I feel that this past week, although incredibly busy has been a wonderfully productive one. I feel that I reached some of my goals from last week in speaking to some of my classmates as well as looking through their work on the class blog. I am starting to gain more of an appreciation for what can be done using this technology, and thinking about ways to work it into my curriculum planning. I love reading what classmates have to write, and though I am not always able to think of comments, I do love to read the comments written my my peers. All in all, this is a great experience for me as a learner completely new to online course work.
For this week, my main goal is to speak to KK and classmates about our curriculum unit. After some conversation and practice, I am finally gaining an appreciation of what a realistic and productive lesson plan would look like (for a K class).
To be honest, I was nervous going into this course having had no experience with online course work or social studies curriculum planning. As I state in my last blog, I had no idea of what social studies looks like in terms of planning a unit. I can truly look back on this week and feel a great sense of accomplishment simply because I understand much more than I did when I began (I still have a ways to go).

I'm glad last week went well for you and you learned knowledge, skills, and developed positive dispositions that will be valuable to your professional work.
ReplyDeleteEva: what specifically do you set as a goal for your self to learn this week re. knowledge? What skill do challenge yourself to learn? and what is your goal for how you will improve your collaboration with classmates (in addition to your partner)?
